Homemade Chocolate Martini Recipe
Chocolate lovers will go crazy for this decadent Homemade Chocolate Martini Recipe! Made with a homemade chocolate syrup instead of chocolate liqueur, they’re not too sweet and won’t give you a stomach ache after one sip! Garnish the martini glasses with cocoa powder, chocolate curls, or a sprig of fresh mint!
Ingredients for Chocolate Martinis
- Chocolate Liqueur &ndash This usually has a base liquor like vodka to which chocolate is added. For this recipe I used Godiva, but there are many other brands on the market.
- Creme de Cacao &ndash Distilled Cacao mixed with vanilla. This is less syrupy when compared to Chocolate Liqueur.
- Vodka &ndash Use your favorite brand of vodka. Change up the flavor with vanilla or caramel for added flavor and sweetness.
- Half-and-half &ndash This just adds creaminess to the drink. You can use a lighter milk if this is too heavy.
I think that Cocktail Parties should become the new rage&hellip then again, that means I&rsquove gotta clean my house and I wouldn&rsquot be able to wear my old comfortable clothes that are not suitable for public display.
Nevermind, I&rsquoll just drink alone at home with my cheap booze at two in the afternoon.
I think that would be safest for everyone involved.
If you&rsquore into day drinking as well and looking for some fun drinks to share with your girlfriends, check out this Metropolitan Martini Recipe, Pomegranate Martini Recipe, or this Samoa Martini. Anyone would be awesome!
Start with this basic recipe and you can change up your creamy cocktail to make many different flavor variations.
Love white chocolate? Make a white chocolate martini with Godiva white chocolate liqueur, Baileys, and vanilla vodka. Serve in a chilled cocktail glass and top it with white chocolate shavings.
Want a chocolate caramel version? Use caramel vodka and add a swirl of caramel around the inside of the glass before pouring your drink.
Prefer dark chocolate? Use dark chocolate liqueur and chocolate vodka. Swirl with chocolate sauce and add some extra at the bottom of the glass.
How about a hint of fruit? Add orange vodka or Grand Marnier for an orange chocolate version---or raspberry vodka or Chambord for a chocolate raspberry version. Both are classic combinations that complement the chocolate flavor.
However you make it, you're sure to love this decadent Godiva chocolate martini! It's also perfect for holiday desserts, Valentine's day dinner, with Easter recipes and Halloween treats---or any special occasions.

MAKING MARTINIS FOR A CROWD?
If you&rsquore making this Chocolate Martini Recipe for a crowd, leave the cocktail shaker behind. You&rsquoll only be able to fit about two martinis in the shaker at once, so if you&rsquore making cocktails for a large number of people, you&rsquoll do a lot more mixing and shaking than visiting with your friends. No thanks.
If this is the case, just multiply the ingredient quantities of this Chocolate Martini Recipe by the number of people you are serving, add it to a pitcher full of ice, stir until very chilled, and serve in martini glasses, taking care not to get ice into the glasses.

In Search of the Best Chocolate Martini Recipe
Once you remove the coffee liqueur and espresso from my espresso martini recipe, you’re left with two ingredients. Vanilla vodka and Godiva liqueur. But you still need a third spirit to make this chocolate martini a true cocktail. I tried Irish cream, but all I could taste was…Irish cream. The home run? Crème de cacao with the addition of a little light cream to balance it out and make it extra creamy.
The result is a slightly creamy cocktail with a perfect balance between vanilla vodka and chocolate liqueurs. Liquid chocolate. I always use vanilla vodka. You can use regular vodka of course, but this is dessert so I highly recommend vanilla for added flavor.
The BEST Chocolate Martini Recipe EVER
I thought I would get THAT out of the way. Hi, it’s Colleen and today I have an INCREDIBLE drink recipe for you.
Raise your hand if you want to be the life of the next party you go to. I am pretty sure I can make that happen for you. All it will take is 10 minutes at your stove to wow your friends, family and even some random strangers! If your lookin’ for love, THIS just may be the ticket (really…it could happen!)
We have Mardis Gras, St. Patty’s Day and big sports finals in the months ahead. I say forget the dip. Bring Chocolate Martinis instead! After all, who doesn’t love chocolate? Make that chocolate you can drink… in an adult version, AND you know exactly what you put in it to make it so decadent and delicious. That, my friends, is what I call a win-win!
You can serve this as a martini or even as a shot it just depends on your audience. I am calling it a Chocolate Martini… well actually I am calling it the BEST Chocolate Martini You Have Ever Had. However, I make it with grain alcohol, aka Everclear (151 proof) so I guess technically in order to be a true martini, it’s supposed to have gin and vermouth. But I am tellin’ you it won’t matter.
Investing in a bottle of Everclear is so worth it. It’s about $16 a bottle, and it goes a very long way due to its potency. (And, bonus, it’s gluten-free!) Just ask for it since it is usually held behind the register. If you wanted to, you could switch it out for vodka.
You can shake it with ice first, but I say keep it simple – just keep it in your fridge in a quart-sized mason jar or glass bottle, shake it up real good and pour right into the glass. You can keep it in the freezer f or 15-20 minutes before serving too.
Bonus! You can make this recipe days ahead. Just keep it in the fridge, and it will be ready to go when you are! The expiration date will be the expiration date of the cream you use.
I said you are welcome, BUT maybe I should have said thank you! I lov e my job . It’ s 1:10 in the afternoon on a Monday, and I have already enjoyed a Chocolate Martini, err I mean The Best Chocolate Martini in the World. See what I go through to bring you delicious recipes… Haha, I love my job!
If you make this, you HAVE to report back. I need to know if you are as in love w ith it as I a m.
BAILEYS CHOCOLATE MARTINI
Baileys is one of those fan favorite liqueurs that blends deliciously in anything from coffee to dessert. The popular Irish cream can add such a rich and creamy texture to even your most boring cup of coffee. Who doesn’t love a little Irish Whiskey in their coffee? Try this Salted Caramel Irish Coffee and you’ll totally see what I mean.
I never met an Baileys recipe I didn’t love, but one of my very favorite Baileys combinations is with chocolate. Serve up a slice of this Baileys Poke Cake at your ladies night. Can’t get enough? Make this No Bake Baileys Chocolate Pie. And if you love this chocolate martini recipe, try my Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini next time you’re craving a dessert in a glass.
How to Make Chocolate Martinis
This is one of those oh so simple recipes. Just shake and go, right?
Place the half and half, vodka, crème de cacao, and Godiva in a shaker with ice. If you don&rsquot have a cocktail shaker set, use two cups turned with openings facing each other.
The key: just make sure you don&rsquot wedge them too tightly that they won&rsquot come apart. I&rsquove found that putting them together at an angle works better than anything else.
Line your glass with chocolate syrup to make it look pretty, but use less than you think you&rsquoll need. Gravity helps you more than you anticipate here.
Shake the alcohol, and pour immediately into your glass. Serve and enjoy.
When you pour, make sure the ice stays in the shaker and not in your glass. Its purpose is to chill the cocktail further without diluting your drink so you can enjoy it fully.
If there are leftovers, save them. You can make this up to two days in advance if you&rsquore having a party and want to get prep done early. Make sure you cover your pitcher, and you&rsquore set.
Warning: placing them into a &ldquowater&rdquo bottle is dangerous. Just sayin&rsquo!
